Joe had ever increasing family problems because of his drinking which was way out of control. His wife felt defeated and the children helpless. All efforts to stop the drink failed. Eventually Joe heard from Clear Mind in Nkoranza.
There are not many rehab. possibilities in Ghana, certainly not up country. Joe came to Nkoranza and decided to stay and let Sala, Paakwasi and Kwame help him sober up and find his new bearings. Joe stayed at the Clear Mind center for maybe three ir four months and worked very hard in casual labour at a construction site to pay back for the daily meals and medication he received from Sala. He succeeded to even buy ten or twelve goats at Nkoranza market from his earned wages and turned back with his goats on top of the bus as a successful conquerer.
